BEWARE OF THIEVES IN THE HOTEL

I have hesitated for a long time to leave a review for this hotel but after a very lengthy and disappointing contact with the hotel I thought it be best that other travelers are warned. This hotel is well located close to the Bernabeu stadium and Paseo de la Castellana avenue. Unfortunately, this also attracts a large number of people with ill motivation. This hotel does nothing to protect its guests for these people and it is unsafe. You should watch out for your luggage in the lobby as it will be stolen right under your nose and the hotel staff does nothing about it. Imagine that you arrive after a night flight with not too much sleep and a long day ahead of you. You get a cup of coffee in the lobby and when you start your day only to find that your bag is stolen. The hotel director confirmed the theft of my stuff in his hotel to me and he even acknowledged to me that this happens frequently, but they do nothing about it. They say that there are warnings in the hotel but this is also not true. The hotel director told me that pre covid they had guards who monitored the lobby and the people coming into the hotel but that the hotel decided, for costs reasons, not to return this security measure afterwards. This is also confirmed by the many complaints of theft from this hotel on this platform and other hotel booking sites. Contact with the hotel staff and management afterwards is unpleasant and very unhelpful. The hotel is not prepared to take measures to safeguard the hotel guests and their belongings, while they know of this danger. Afterwards, they do not take responsibility for their negligence behavior. There are many other hotels in the area, I recommend not going to this one.

The hotel lobby was lovely and a glass of cava on arrival was delightful . The rooms are spacious but a bit dated. We were rudely awoken at 8am every morning by the building work going on outside and the cleaners getting their trolleys out of the storeroom that was attached to our room. The room was either too hot or too cold there wasn’t an in between. Room service for dinner was ok but the thing that really let this hotel down was breakfast €18 and the hot food is barely edible you would be better going to the cafe next door

No complaints on the hotel as such, but reception could have at least mentioned and apologized that there are renovations ongoing either the hotel or the same building at least... Listening hours of hammer drill sounds and waking up to it, is hardly pleasant

CRIME - UNHELPFUL STAFF I’m still awaiting a crime reference number for an incident which occurred recently. Staff not wanting to show CCTV of an incident of my bag being stolen from the hotel lobby. After looking at some reviews, this is not the first time this has happened at this hotel!

Be careful!!! We were in this hotel with a group of friends and one got robbed in the lobby. Hotel was absolutely careless! They showed us a sign saying they are not liable for anything! This happens a lot, as we could see, and they just don't care! Be very careful!
